
MINI Motor show 2006

The successful MINI ‘Fake’ campaign was brought to life at the British Motor Show by D3 who were commissioned by TRO Group to build three ‘Fake’ MINI’s; a piano, a lawnmower and a garden shed.
Additionally D3 were asked to design and engineer an interactive game, ‘Fake Invaders’ which was inspired by the original Space Invaders game. Participants sat in a MINI Cooper convertible and used the steering wheel to control the game, viewing the action on a giant LED screen and shooting down ‘Fake’ MINI’s! The MINI Cooper was sat on a turntable which moved hydraulically in sync with the steering wheel. D3 also created the software and technical interface between the car and the game.
